5 Things I Learned from Kate Spade + A Kate Spade Inspired Bridal Shower

Kate Spade was one of the most iconic, inspiring, imaginative and intriguing fashion designers of all times.  Her words were so positive, beautiful and encouraging.  Her creativity in designing taught me some of the most valuable lessons that I have learned in life.  I have often used them a source of inspiration for pivotal projects in my life such as my very first handbag collaboration video with Nikki, https://youtu.be/ElLvCNmzHE0!  As a result, I want to share with you 5 things I learned from Kate Spade, along with a Kate bridal shower {I promised you wedding related tips this month}.

  1. Live Colorfully!  {You all know how much I love color!  This spoke to my spirit and life}

  2. You can never be overdressed or overeducated!  {Can I love this twice?  My husband says that I only have one style- Dressy}

  3. Believe in celebrations both big and small! {This was the foundation of me taking a leap of faith and opening our intimate event center, Luxe Studio}.  https://youtu.be/jpmu1PmiAjg

  4. She who leaves a trail of glitter is not ever forgotten. Think Selflessly. Think Selflessly. Think Selflessly.  { I absolutely love planning events as it allows me to leave a trail of glitter in the hearts and minds of the individuals that I help to celebrate! You have to think selflessly to celebrate others no matter how large or small.  Check out this intimate Kate Spade themed bridal shower}. https://youtu.be/NqceJPcVWXA

  5. She’s a dreamer. A doer. A thinker. She sees possibility everywhere. {Enough said}

However, one of the most important lessons that I learned from her was after the news of her passing on last week… It’s okay to ask for help!  Asking others for help can be of the hardest things to do. Consequently, we find a false sense of power, strength and pride as we try to do it all on our own.  When times are tough, or you are in need of some outside counsel, remember these three reasons to reach out to those you trust to ask for help:  They love you more than you know, you don’t lose strength by asking someone else to lend theirs and finally with the knowledge that you have gained; you will find a way to pay it forward!

As a person who has been experienced compounded tragedy over past few years, believe me when I say that you are stronger than you think.  Asking for help doesn’t diminish you, but rather empowers you and those around you.   If we only knew that we didn’t have to go it alone!  Being alone is only a choice… There are options… National Suicide Prevention Lifeline:  Call 1-800-273-8255.
